Logging 10k steps a day with your Fitbit will boost your player performance in NBA2K17

Are you quantifying yourself with a Fitbit? That's great, and doubly so if you happen to be a NBA 2K17 player on the PC or console! Starting November 25th, every day you manage to log 10,000 steps with your Fitbit device will earn your virtual player a temporary boost in stats and skills, improving your performance for the next five games you play the same day.

The feature will go live next week and it will expect you to connect your Fitbit with the game, although the exact procedure hasn't been made clear. We presume there will be directions in the game itself.

The way Fitbit and NBA2K17 publisher 2K see it, this tie-in will help keep Fitbit users active by awarding their habit of movement with virtual earnings inside the sports game. Intrinsically, it makes a lot of sense, even if the reward isn't exactly mindblowing. Moreover, it's nice to see 2K added to the growing Works with Fitbit program, which lets developers, brands and users connect the wearables maker's platform to popular health apps, services, hardware products, and now – games. There's potential for more Fitbit-integrated games to be released on console, PC, and mobile now.
