Liveblog: Samsung's Galaxy Note 5 and S6 edge+ unpacking
Well, the big day is finally here. Samsung is about to unpack its new phablets, the Note 5 and S6 edge+, for all the big screen lovers out there, and we'll be there to report the news as they come.

This year, the company is expected to once again shake things up as far as its phablet line goes, by replacing last year's stylus-enabled Note Edge with a bigger (and stylus-lacking) variation of the S6 edge, dubbed S6 edge plus (resembling Apple's phablet naming scheme with the iPhone 6 Plus).

It'll no doubt be interesting to see what new features Samsung has come up with for its new devices. For Note 5, we're sure there are going to be surprises in the way of the S Pen, but exactly how the S6 edge+ is going to differentiate is pretty much a mystery for now.

Thankfully, all will soon be revealed, and you can count on us to keep you up to date with our liveblog, which you can find below!

Alternatively, of course, you can always watch the livestream video directly, just head this way.

absolutely a must buy!!! for me, the only deal-breakers could be micro-sd card. For the defending argument that we can buy phone with higher storage, i beg to differ. There are few other things which we can do with removable memory cards... 1. Choice of size (64, 128 etc) 2. You can insert others/frnds sd-card for any media transfer. 3. If phone goes corrupt for any reason, we can save atleast the sd-card data.

"dubbed S6 edge plus (resembling Apple's phablet naming scheme with the iPhone 6 Plus)." -Ray S. (PA) Resembling Apple's naming scheme? Wrong. You mean Apple copied Samsung's naming scheme. Samsung has used the Plus moniker for five years, dating back to the Galaxy S Plus in 2011. In fact, there are more than ten Samsung phones that have the Plus name.http://m.gsmarena.com/samsung_i9001_galaxy_s_plus-3908.php Once again, PA is just another Apple shill; a victim of Apple's twisted PR machine.

Samsung, however, didn't use "Plus" in the context of phablets, prior to the iPhone 6 Plus. It used it in the sense of "slightly newer/better", which is different. So the + in the S6 edge+ has a different meaning ('phablet') than the "Plus" in previous Samsung handsets.

Apple didnt made 6 plus just bigger but also 1080p vs 750p, 2150mah vs 1810mah, OIS vs none so yeah apple also did it "newer/better".

Stop it Ray. That's a cop out and you know it. A truly ridiculous excuse by you. Samsung simply used it first. Admit that you're wrong and stop trying to cop a plea. It just makes PA look like even more of an Apple fanboy site than it already is.

We always discuss so much about the trollers, but the authors themselves are trolling here. Cant we expect atleast in the launch posts, that the names of other OEMs to be not posted please.

Can you tell me when Apple invented the word "Plus"? And how much did Apple pay you, Mr Ray? I can't believe PA which is a big tech site has biased point of view toward Apple.

Ray: Your retort is hilarious. Only an Apple shill would come up with such a ridiculous reply. As far as anyone can tell, the iPhone 6 Plus is "slightly...better" than the iPhone 6. The Plus has a higher resolution screen, hardware OIS, and longer battery life. So, chew on that for a bit while you go back to your Apple sheeps on appleinsider.com and brainstorm another preposterous comeback.

Samsung, however, didn't use "Plus" in the context of phablets, prior to the iPhone 6 Plus." Ray S. (PA) There were no phablets when Samsung was the FIRST to use the "Plus" moniker in cellphones because Samsung didn't release their phablet invention until October 2011. Galaxy S Plus was released in July 2011. Yes, folks: Samsung INVENTED the phablet.

Waiting to hear about the S6edge+. Its one of the sexiest devices on the market. Just hoping the battery is bigger than the "rumored" 3000mah we've heard about or that there's some serious optimization going on there.
