Latest version of BBM for Android now released to the public
Last month, BlackBerry offered a new beta version of its BBM for Android messaging app. Today, this new version of BBM for Android is ready for public release with a version number of v3.3.7.94. Among the new features is an improved chat UI that includes new chat balloons and static backgrounds. New and free stickers can now be found faster, and you can more easily manage the groups you belong to with options to "Leave" and "Delete."

One change that was part of the beta in July, the ability given BBM for Android users to pick custom PIN numbers for free, did not make it to the final version of the app. In fact, the official changelist includes:

  • UI improvements to chat
  • Categorized search for easy navigation
  • Localised Discover services for videos, music, entertainment
  • Manage your groups with easy 'Leave' and 'Delete' options
  • Enhanced protection against spam
  • Bug fixes

To install the latest version of BBM available for your Android, iOS or BlackBerry 10 device, simply click on the appropriate link. (Android|iOS|BlackBerry10).

Can't stress enough how great it is to see that BlackBerry is constantly updating and adding new features to their apps like BBM. Always great to see OEM's do this.

BBM continues to be a versatile platform that has many benefits if the other party is using it as well.

Just like iMessaging. Except BBM is available on more OSes. But please explain, something you've never done, how BBM is any different from WhatsApp, Viber, Telegram or any other IM app, if the other user doesn't have it either?

Those have far more users than BBM. Why are you making this an issue?

What does the number of users have to do with what Crispin asked? Oh. That's right. You have no logical response, so you're deflecting from it and crying because he called you out.

Honestly, how many people is still using this? I mean, its great to see them updating, but i dont know how many people (like me) downloaded this out of curiousity and uninstalled it because it was not what we thought or... any of our friend used it, so are there lots of users in this?

Over 55 million MAU's in Indonesia alone, so I'd say that people are using it.

I'll take actual numbers by those closest to the matter than anecdotal "evidence". Indonesians may be switching from BlackBerry smartphones, but facts are facts, and actual numbers trump anecdotal "evidence".

"According to a report from Tech in Asia Indonesia‚ BBM has more than 63 million active users each month with 16.7 billion messages sent every day. A majority of its users are in the 18-24 age group." That was taken from here: http://www.sundayworld.co.za/news/2017/07/05/blackberry-messenger-is-back As I said, actual numbers trump anecdotal "evidence". Your usage case of BBM does not equate to or speak for the entirety of Indonesia. This is why I like to back up what I say with links.
