LTE market to really take off in 2011, says Nokia Siemens head
Nokia Siemens Networks (NSN) is one of the largest 4G equipment manufacturers worldwide. Its head for Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macao Mike Wang has expressed optimism about the LTE adoption as the de facto "4G" standard.

According to Mr Wang 70-80% of the mobile carriers and equipment manufacturers worldwide are betting on LTE to become the technology of choice for the next generation data downloads. A couple of carriers in Europe have already rolled their LTE networks into operation, NTT DoCoMo in  Japan is expected to do so until year-end, and most everybody else will follow suit in 2011.

In the US, the first commercial LTE network was just turned on a few weeks ago by MetroPCS, and Verizon is expected to follow suit soon, with most of the major metropolitan areas blanketed by the end of 2011. AT&T is also expected to cover about 70 million people with its own LTE network by the middle of next year.
