LG might be secretly prepping not one, not two, but a whole lot of four smartwatches. At least this is what the company's recent trademark spree is seemingly telling us. The Korean giant just yesterday filed trademark applications with the EU for "Watch Style", "Watch Pro", "Watch Force", and "Watch Sole", which are all names that fall in line with LG's existing smartwatch naming scheme.
As a reminder, two of LG's more recent wearables are dubbed the Watch Urbane and LG Watch Urbane 2nd Edition. The trademark descriptions are pretty self-explanatory as well - these all are "watches that communicate data to PDAs; smartphones for wrist". Sadly, apart from the names of the possible future watches, nothing else is know about these at the moment.
More interestingly, LG wants to receive yet another trademark and this one will let the company use the "Watch Pay" name to its heartfelt content. The trademark description reveals that this will be a mobile payment service likely envisioned as an alternative to Samsung Pay and Apple Pay: "Mobile payment application (software) for smartphone; Payment application software for mobile phones; Computer application programs for Mobile; Mobile payment application (software) for smartwatch."

This easily falls in line with all the rumors about LG Pay that we've been hearing lately. It seems that the upcoming LG G6 might be among the first LG devices to arrive with LG Pay support right out of the box, and it seems that similarly to Samsung Pay, this one will support MST payments as well. On a grander scale, we should expect LG Pay to launch sometime in 2017.
