Huawei sub-brand Honor already dominates online smartphone sales throughout the most part of the year, but during the recent Black Friday weekend, it seems the company saw a pretty remarkable surge in sales.

Honor's Black Friday smartphone sales skyrocketed in the US and Europe
Across Western Europe, the budget brand saw an average increase in sales of 250% versus Black Friday 2017. This is largely down to the Honor 10 flagship, which instantly became one of the top 10 smartphones on Amazon, and the cheaper Honor 9 Lite, which was the best-selling device in its price range throughout the region.

Honor also proved extremely popular in the Czech Republic, Poland, and Finland. More specifically, the brand was the number one smartphone brand across all sales channels in the latter market, while in the Czech Republic sales increase a whopping 200%. Also notable is the Honor Play’s performance in Poland – sales grew a humongous 500% over the weekend.

The Huawei-backed brand’s performance in the US was also mentioned in the numbers. According to the company, demand for the Honor View 10 reached new highs and was completely sold out on Amazon and Newegg.

I'm not surprised by this at all. I took advantage of the $349 black Friday deal for the Honor View 10, and I am very happy with it. Performance has been great, I was pleasantly surprised by the camera, battery life has been fantastic, and I love the features that EMUI provides. The View 10 was already a great bang for your buck smartphone at its original price. At $349, it was a steal.

How is Honor allowed to sell here, but not Huawei?

This is referring to online sales of Honor devices. Online stores have kept selling both Huawei and Honor smartphones.

I bought my View 10 for $399. It's a great phone. Wish it was Android One, but EMUI is ok.
