The HTC U11 has finally been introduced, and fans of the manufacturer will be ecstatic to find out that HTC's next flagship will feature the water resistance that they have been begging for. During this morning's unveiling of the phone, HTC announced that the U11 has an IP67 certification rating. That means that the unit can be submerged in water as deep as 3.3-feet for as long as 30-minutes, and emerge unscathed.

Another interesting announcement deals with the personal assistants on the device. As you might expect since the HTC U11 is an Android phone after all, Google Assistant is on board. But the HTC U11 will also feature Amazon's Alexa. The star of the Amazon Echo smart speakers, Alexa is also found on the Huawei Mate 9, and will be offered on select Moto handsets this year. Alexa will be added to HTC U11 units in the U.S., U.K. and Germany via a Play Store update to be available 30 days after the phone is launched in each of the three countries.

In China, HTC U11 buyers will get to use Baidu Duer as a second personal assistant alongside Google. HTC says that it is working on bringing even more personal assistants to the device, and promises that they will all receive the same access to the phone's features.
