GPS fix update for the Asus Transformer Prime is rolling out, but the results are mixed
Call it the easy way of easing the minds of affected owners or something else, but the highly prized Asus Transformer Prime is currently getting yet another software update.

This time around, however, the update hones in on the troubling GPS issues affecting some units – though, it’s reported that the issue stems from a hardware problem as opposed to software. Naturally, it makes you wonder why they’ve even bothered to roll out this update, especially when the tablet recently went through a redesign, but nevertheless, it’s out now and starting to roll out. So far, the results seem to be a mix bag, with people saying it does correct the problem, while others simply say it did absolutely nothing.

Whatever the case, just be aware that the software update will break root, so bear that in mind before going through with installing it. In other instances, owners say that the installation just fails – so who knows exactly what’s going on. Aside from “correcting” the GPS issue, the update also packs updates to the camera and improved web browsing performance.

As much as we’d love to say that this will concretely dash all of the tablet’s GPS woes, we can’t say with a lot of certainty due to the inconsistent results that owners are seeing right now. Nonetheless, we suppose it’s better to install the update in either event. So, did this update fix things for you?
