Fresh HTC One M9+ leaks: MediaTek CPU, EMEA availability, late Q1 or early Q2 launch

Fresh HTC One M9+ leaks: MediaTek CPU, EMEA availability, late Q1 or early Q2 launch
Ahead of HTC's New York event, which is about to begin in a few hours, royal leaks personality @upleaks chimed in with a claim that the upcoming HTC One M9 upgrade with a Quad-HD display and fingerprint scanner will be named the HTC One M9+ (not Plus).

Moreover, if the prodigal leakster is to be trusted, the smartphone will sell in the Europe, Middle East, and Africa region as well (possibly named the HTC Desire A55). Allegedly, the EMEA region will get the configuration with a MT6795 octa-core processor, while an eventual US variant will be powered by the Snapdragon 810 SoC.

@upleaks also said that the smartphone will launch in the end of March, or early in the second quarter. This means we could see its announcement at HTC's New York event today, although the company's social marketing campaign mostly alludes to an official HTC One M9 launch for the USA.

Anyway, we'll see what our Taiwanese friends have been up to shortly - the event begins Wed, March 18 @ 9:00 AM (PDT).

So introducing the regular M9 to the PREMIUM market segment was a waste of time then? Good to know, S6 it is.

And just wait for the next iterations of S6. S6 PLUS, S6 mini, S6 Sport, S6 Active, S6 LTE-A, and many more to come.

Excellent, then, there will be an S6 for every need. How great it is to be able to have such a range of options if you want an S6, would you not agree?

Why would anyone want regular S6 then? With smaller resolution and slower SOC? :) Not so PREMIUM looks like.

Likely someone looking for a smaller price tag who wouldn't mind the lower specs. In any case, my post was more of a retort to Settings' sarcastic comment, and not actually a serious post. Although I do believe having a few specialized variants is a nice way of satisfying the needs of various types of people.

^^^^ Exactly, i agree with your logic of needing variants for the ones who want it. How else would one explain the many different color of pants/jeans for dudes?

Galaxy S line was meant to be premium, until prefixes came in and destroyed what supposed to be meaning of Galaxy S line. S5 mini is trash compared to Z3 compact. I mean if its a GS product it should be the best like the one's it been marketed with.

You are absolutely right "Settings", I am also waiting for the Samsung Variants Which will Make their Customers "Fools" who Bought the normal S6 & S6 Edge. I heard that, there are few models coming up with the features of "Water Resistant, Memory Card Slots, & Removable Battery". Just waiting for wether it is "True or Not".

Of course, but the graphics perfomance is still somewhat below the 2 years old Adreno 330.

Then enjoy reading your email on your regular m9!

Sadly... I use my phone mostly for web browsing, shopping, checking e-mail, and play CoC. Not using it for a lot of graphic. :P That's why I spent a lot of money on my gaming rig. Andreno got nothing on any 3 year old graphic card.

That fingerprint scanner makes the phone look damn tall, and with that ugly camera ring, it just makes the phone not-so-HTC anymore. They used to have great designs, but WTF is this? Did HTC fire their great designers or the designers aren't happy with the reduce in salary? I hope the final design will look different though.

its supposed to be priced cheaper that's why the design is a downgrade

You think it looks ridiculous now, wait until it's turned on and it becomes urge first phone ever to have both a software and a hardware home button. Or is that button there for fingerprints?

Samsung has the Note series, so HTC wanted their own N series, we introduce you the HTC One Nipple.

Does the black ring on the back of the phone need to be there? Could they have covered at least some of it with metal?

If it overheats with 1080p I can't imagine with a QHD.
