Essential Phone gets another update for its Camera app, here is what's new

8comments

One of the Essential Phone's major letdowns, camera performance continues to be improved through software updates that seem to come pretty often lately. After adding Facebook Live 360 streaming support to its 360 Camera module, Essential is now updating the Camera app that comes pre-installed on the phone.

While there don't seem to be any graphics changes, Essential added two new features: YouTube Live 360 support (for Essential 360 Camera) and the option to broadcast Facebook Live 360 on a Facebook page. In a previous update, Essential finally enabled Portrait Mode and added JPEG compression, along with a few other small improvements.

If you own the Essential Phone, you can already download the latest update to the Camera app via Google Play Store. Keep in mind though that judging by the version number, the application is still in beta, so there's still room for improvements.
