Deal: Amazon is selling the Nexus 6 for just $229.99 ($90 off)

One of the best smartphones ever launched by Google, the Motorola-manufactured Nexus 6 is one sale on Amazon for a meager price. Usually, the Nexus 6 sells in the United States for at least $320, but for the next 6 hours, customers can get it much cheaper.

For the rest of the day, the Nexus 6 is available for purchase at Amazon for just $229.99, 28% cheaper than the retail price, so you'll be saving $90 if you buy it now.

Last week, the same smartphone was on sale at Daily Steals for only $219.99, but, just like on Amazon, the deal was available for one day only.

Keep in mind that only the Midnight Blue version of the Nexus 6 is discounted on Amazon, as the Cloud White variant costs $329.99. This is the unlocked Nexus 6 with 32GB storage, which means it will work with all carriers in the United States (GSM and CDMA).

The smartphone is not sold directly by Amazon, but those who buy it will also benefit from free shipping. You can also add a carrier SIM card for service activation if you want, but you'll have to pay extra.

I wouldn't mind having it as a spare media device, but in all honesty, it really is too old. I would rather get a Moto G5 Plus, get the better hardware, fingerprint scanner, updated OS, double native storage and expandable storage for a little more.

This was my last Android phone before I had to get a new one, due to me being clumsy and the screen going black. It was a great phone, but it started showing its age as lag started to creep in. In all honesty, it's size is the reason why I ended up buying an iPhone SE afterwards. I wanted a change, in both OS and size factor. I never realized how much I missed one handed operation and the iPhone SE has been smooth for me since purchase, even as a refurbished model. Still, I'll always remember my Nexus 6 fondly and thank Android for its many years of service to me.

I almost bought the Nexus 6... I'm actually not sure why I didn't, but after two years with my 6p, which is a bit smaller, I'm glad that I didn't. I'm right now super excited about the Pixel 2 because I really miss the comfort of a smaller smartphone.

It's almost three years old! Who would pay that much?
