Some iPhone Duo orders in the US and Japan had their shipping dates dramatically changed
This past weekend, Apple moved the expected arrival date for some iPhone Duo pre-orders in the country from November and December to the October 23 launch date. Originally, the stories about iPhone Duo pre-orders moving from November and December to the October 23 launch date came out of Japan, and only on pre-orders made directly through Apple.
One T-Mobile subscriber will reportedly get his iPhone Duo on October 22
However, some US pre-orders have also been similarly moved up. One T-Mobile customer discovered that his iPhone Duo pre-order had been moved up to October 22. How could this happen? This order was being fulfilled from T-Mobile's own stock and not from Apple's, which explains the revised, earlier arrival date for the pre-order.
If you pre-ordered from Apple, here's how you can get the latest info on your order
You can check to see if your own order has a revised shipping date by opening the Apple Store app. Tap the profile icon in the upper right corner of the display and select orders. You will see a list of recent purchases with your iPhone Duo order listed at the top. Tap that order to see all of the latest details including any changes made to your iPhone Duo order.
If you have an earlier shipping date, keep your fingers crossed that it sticks
If you ordered your Duo through a carrier, you'll have to go through that carrier's own website or app to get the latest shipping dates. Until you get the notification that your foldable iPhone has shipped, take any notice of an earlier shipping date with a grain of salt. There is always a chance that the receipt of an earlier shipping date was an accident and the other shoe is about to drop.

Remember that unless you already have a pre-order for the iPhone Duo, you won't be able to walk into an Apple Store on Friday and walk out with the foldable. As we told you the other day, Apple is telling Apple Store employees to alert customers that the first day they should call to see if there is inventory of the device in Apple Stores is Saturday, October 24.
