Cortana beta program coming to the Apple iPhone
If Siri is just not doing it for you on your Apple iPhone, you might want to try Google or Cortana. Both of those voice activated virtual assistants are available for iOS with apps offered from the App Store. Do you use Cortana as your 'go to' assistant on the iPhone? If so, Microsoft is making it easy for you to get an early look at any new features or enhancements that it might decide to add to the iOS app. All you have to do is join the Cortana beta program that is being offered to those sporting an iPhone. There already is such a  program available for Android users.

The category is growing with Samsung adding Bixby, Nokia reportedly adding Viki, and Huawei employing Amazon's Alexa on certain models. And Google has enhanced its virtual personal assistant by adding conversational features to "Google Assistant."

The iOS beta app for Cortana is only being offered to those iPhone users in the U.S. and U.K., and is being limited to 1,000 people. Still, you have a better shot at joining the beta than you have to win the lottery, or to get hit by lightning. To sign up for the Cortana iOS beta program, you will need to fill out the survey that can be accessed by clicking on the sourcelink.
