Do you plan to buy the BlackBerry KEYone? (Poll results)

The BlackBerry KEYone is one of the most interesting handsets showcased at this year's edition of MWC (which hasn't ended yet). Unlike most of today's smartphones, the KEYone sports a rather small 4.5-inch display and a hardware QWERTY keyboard below it. In some ways, this is like a BlackBerry handset from the company's good old days.

Shortly after the KEYone was announced at MWC 2017, we wanted to know your opinion on it. So we published this poll, asking you if you're planning to buy the device. As you can see in the poll results below, 44.14% of voters are seriously leaning towards purchasing this new BlackBerry, while 18.41% are not sure yet. On the other hand, 37.45% of voters said that they wouldn't buy the KEYone. Nevertheless, the overall results are quite encouraging, though it remains to be seen if the smartphone will generate enough sales to be considered a commercial success.

As a reminder, the KEYone is the fourth BlackBerry-branded phone to run Android (and, by the way, that's Android 7.1 Nougat with extra security from BlackBerry). It will be available unlocked in the US starting April, costing $549. To find out more about the new device, feel free to check out our BlackBerry KEYone hands-on preview.

Well... This is just not my cup of tea... Not anymore... And if that makes me a hater, so be it... Steve Jobs killed PKBs a decade ago and about 99.99% of the world's population agreed with him and made Apple the most desirable company in the world... And as such... I've every reason to believe that Jobs was a "GENIUS". A 'TRUEST' GENIUS, and not some "SELF PROCLAIMED" one which are, quite literally, dime a dozen and are found almost everywhere... In any case, how well this phone perform in the market remains to be seen... But I've my share of doubt considering the poor performance of Priv (or is it "Perv"...?)... Even as an old man, I tend to look forward... I honestly wonder why the younger generation is looking back...? Oh well, G'Day!

Smartphones which were launched after The legendary iPhone original: Bold 3 & 4, a couple of Curve Models, Q10, Passport, Classic, Priv (Or was it... Ahem... Sorry), Nokia E Series, some cheap Asha phones, HTC ChaCha (I just can't forget its name...!) and Galaxy Ch@t... Are you seeing any "BLOCKBUSTERS" Smartphones which took over the world like wildfire...? Like The iPhones in other words...? No... So what makes some people think that this is going to re-invent The Qwerty and bring it back to the main stream...? Eh...? Oh well, G'Day!

I'm buying one, whether it's a commercial success or not. I've never let the sales that a smartphone has generated be a determining factor of whether I will buy it or not, and I won't start now. I like what I like, and spend my money how I see fit. I'm not one to follow the flock like a blind z0mbi3, and I never will be. I like my smartphones to be as unique as I am, and I buy them based off of what's best for ME, and not based on what's best for everyone else, or what what the flock has jumped on.

@wkm001 You have a problem with what I said? Did I offend your delicate sensibilities? If so, do include snowflake z0mbi3 in your PA profile.

That's how I am my dude. I don't care what these trolls say, I'm buying what I want, and speaking on the experience of it in the comments. Let em rant.

@darrkjedi That's what I'm saying. 100% agree with you. People care too much about what someone else is spending their own money on. People should just mind their own business, and let others enjoy what they choose to spend their hard earned money on.

I've always advocated that you should buy what works for you. For me, the Nexus 6P has been my smartphone of choice and will continue to be unless something else is released that can top it. Honestly this isn't a phone for me. I'm not really a PKB user.

PA, what on earth is with the way comments are displayed? The comment above was in response to darkk.

Personally this device is not for me but as you said MG, you buy what you like. They didn't make it for average users, its for enterprise and people that still prefer PKB.
