Asus delays Android 8.0 Oreo for ZenFone 3 Laser and ZenFone 3 Zoom
Asus promised last month that its ZenFone 3 Laser, ZenFone 3 Zoom and the ZenFone 3 Deluxe smartphones will be updated to Android 8.0 Oreo by the end of March. True to its promise, the company delivered the update to the ZenFone 3 Deluxe last week, but the other two handsets remain on Android Nougat.

In an update post on Twitter, Asus confirmed the update for both smartphones has been delayed due to some issues that require more time to be fixed.

If you own either of the two smartphones, you'll now have to wait until the end of June, but Asus' statement suggests there's always the possibility that the update will come earlier if all issues are fixed faster.

Android 8.0 Oreo is likely to be the last major Android OS update that these smartphones will receive until EOL (end of life) status, so you'll have to switch to one of the new ZenFone 5 devices if you want Android P, or better wait for the ZenFone 6 series next year.
