Unsurprisingly, Alcatel is back with yet another budget-friendly Android smartphone. Despite the fact that the new Alcatel U5 HD has pretty low-end specs, this an
enhanced version of another smartphone that was unveiled early this year at MWC.
Much of the specs inside are similar, so expect the same MediaTek MT6737 processor, coupled with 1GB RAM and 8GB expandable storage (up to 32GB). However, there are some improvements when it comes to camera and display.
The
Alcatel U5 HD sports a 5-inch display with HD (720p) resolution, an 8-megapixel rear-facing camera, and a secondary 5-megapixel selfie snapper. The original model has a 5-inch display with 480 x 854 pixels resolution, and much smaller 5MP and 2MP cameras.
Moreover, the U5 HD is powered by a slightly 2,200 mAh battery, as opposed to the 2,050 mAh battery inside the Alcatel U5. It's also got dual-SIM support for those looking for this specific feature.
We have yet to learn the smartphone's price and availability, but that's probably going to be revealed in early September at IFA 2017 trade fair.
