iPhone 6s Plus' stabilization compared with iPhone 6s, is among the first phones to offer IS in 4K

Despite rocking an image stabilizing gizmo, last year's iPhone 6 Plus didn't actually make use of the mechanism when taking video. For whatever reason, Apple had decided to only make use of OIS with images — and while not ideal, that's still a plus. With this year's iPhone 6s Plus, however, OIS will work with both images and video, and a new sample from German Giga showcases the effect by comparing the footage with the iPhone 6s, which has no optical stabilization.

As you can imagine, the iPhone 6s Plus does a better of job of eliminating jitter when walking and panning around. What's even more, the 6s Plus can do its thing even when shooting in 4K resolution, which is still kind of rare. That said, it's unclear if Apple's phablet is making use of both optical and digital stabilization with 4K, or only the former. Our take? It benefits from both.
