More details about the Elephone S7 revealed. Could it truly cost $100?
A few weeks ago, Hong Kong-based company Elephone teased an upcoming curvy metal-and-glass smartphone by sharing a few renders (seen below) and the price of the device — from $99.99 to $189.99, depending on tier. Availability details are yet unknown, but today, the company announced the specs of the smartphone.

According to an official blog post, the upcoming Elephone Galaxy S7 would be powered by a deca-core MediaTek Helio X20 and 3 GB of RAM, have a 32 GB storage chip, a display with a 5.5-inch diagonal and a 1080 x 1920 pixel resolution, and its camera combo would consist of a 16 MP sensor on the back snapper and an 8 MP one for the selfie cam.

These were the only specs mentioned and there is no word on the supposed different tier variants. At this point, we have to wonder whether the previous claim for a $100 price still holds. Just today, Meizu announced the MX6 with very similar specs and a $300 price-tag. And, as you probably know, Meizu itself is well-known for pricing its smartphones pretty aggressively. At this point, Elephone's claim for a smartphone with these hardware specs and costly curved glass panels on both its front and its back seems a bit far-fetched.
