Torras has been busy re-thinking, re-designing, and upgrading its cases since we last saw them. The result of months of effort is a new TORRAS airbag series of iPhone 17 Pro cases that look jaw-dropping and protect the iPhones inside them with an impressive dual-layer airbag system.
Dual-layer airbags for an elevated protection experience
TORRAS set out to build an iPhone 17 Pro case for the hikers, campers, and climbers. Naturally, such a case needs to be rugged and to protect the phone from the most drastic falls possible.
In recent past, a rugged case would be a thick, unsightly, and heavy armor that you begrudgingly had to wrap around your beautiful iPhone 17 Pro Max in order to keep it safe. The TORRAS Q3 Air Pro changes that.
Inspired by the design of sporty sneakers, the TORRAS Q3 Air Pro features a sealed, dual-layer airbag system called the Air Duet that fits snugly around the phone’s edges. It is rated to protect your phone completely from 16-foot drops.
The first layer will absorb most of the shock, the second airbag disperses it further. By the time the impact force reaches your device, it will — at most — have the effect of a gentle bump.

Since the Q3 Air Pro is made for the active adventurer, it really leans into its inspirations. The outer layer is a beautiful clear airbag, which allows for the high-vis orange internal layer to shine through as an accent that completes the sporty look of the Torras Q3 Air Pro.
Torras is well-known for the kickstand rings on their iPhone cases. These are highly durable, magnetic rings that also unfold to become kickstands on the fly.
The 8-layer base and hinge are made to withstand tens of thousands of folds and unfolds, and can lock in place for any position you need. The ring at the base rotates freely on a 360-degree axis.

This means that this iPhone 17 Pro case allows you to hoop the ring-stand around your fingers when on the go. This adds a layer of security when operating the device with one hand, or you can let it dangle off your fingers while grabbing a bag or something else.
The magnets inside are exactly aligned to an iPhone 17 Pro’s MagSafe system, and have a magnetic force of 18N. This doesn’t just ensure secure sticking to MagSafe accessories such as chargers, stands, and wallets. You can literally plop a heavy iPhone 17 Pro Max on metal surfaces like fridges or fitness racks and it will stay there.
Or utilize the stand’s multi-angle adjustment to to prop up the iPhone 17 Pro in any position at a desk or counter near you. With all these different options available to you, you can keep that YouTube going, that recipe open, or follow that fitness routine without missing a beat.
The final touch - the feel
A rugged case has to be grippy enough to prevent drops in the first place. But TORRAS didn’t want to make a sticky rubber case and call it a day.
The Q3 Air Pro features a fine texture that was revised over 570 times in order to feel like smooth and pleasant matte without being slippery. Side grip textures were added where your fingers meet the phone frame to increase the level of security and tactile feel.
And it has all been treated to resist the buildup of dirt, sweat, or scuffing.
There’s also an easter egg inside the case — look closely and you might find the coordinates of Mount Everest.
The iPhone 17 Pro’s buttons are protected by clicky covers on the case, with a Camera Control pad that transfers your touches down to the iPhone accurately.
The TORRAS Q3 Air Pro may look awesome, but is probably overkill for a large portion of users. That’s why there’s the TORRAS Q3 Air, which follows the same design concept but slims it down to one protective airbag, still tested to be effective against 8-foot drops.
The TORRAS Q3 Rugg leans into the vibrant color accents and hyper-textured, tactile feel of the frame. It’s very grippy and rated to protect the phone against everyday bumps and drops.
