Samsung produces high-end Android flip phone for China Mobile

Samsung has brought back the flip phone, not that it could ever go away completely, to China Mobile. The world's largest carrier is getting a new Android powered flip phone, the G9098. With the squared off corners, the device does resemble the Samsung Galaxy S II. And the faux leather design on the back should quickly bring to mind the Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

The flip phone comes with a pair of 3.67 inch Super AMOLED screens, both offering resolution of 480 x 800. The outer glass offers touchscreen capabilities, while the inner screen allows the device to work as a regular flip phone. A quad-core 2.3GHz processor is under the hood (most likely the Snapdragon 800), with 2GB of RAM inside. A microSD slot is available to those who need additional memory, and the back and front-facing cameras weigh in at 13MP and 2 MP respectively. A 1900mAh cell powers the phone.

As we noted, the Samsung G9098 will be offered to customers of China Mobile. Pricing was not disclosed.
