While we may have a vague idea on what Samsung is planning to announce next week at CES 2014, the company hasn’t confirmed anything yet. However, in a post made today on the official Samsung Tomorrow blog, the South Korean manufacturer seems to give us a hint on some of the products that it will unveil in Vegas.
The blog post discusses general things regarding the upcoming trade fair, but also has a paragraph titled Samsung at CES 2014. This reminds us that Samsung introduced its Galaxy Gear smartwatch three months ago, while also demonstrating a new “smart home” concept. “The wearable device market is on the rise and the concept of smart home has started to gain ground”, says Samsung, further noting that “[at CES 2014] we can expect some innovative products that we had imagined to use in the future.”
In consequence, Samsung could announce the rumored Galaxy Gear 2 and Galaxy Band (initially believed to be prepared for MWC 2014) at CES next week.
The first Galaxy Gear smartwatch - see our review of it here - isn’t as attractive as Samsung wanted it to be, still lacking a clear purpose (plus, its $300 price tag is not justified). So maybe the Gear 2 will straighten things out. We’ll see.
