Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX HD to stay on Android 4.1.2 forever [Update: not really]

Bad news for those who own the Motorola DROID RAZR MAXX HD. Despite invitations to a soak test that were sent out in July for the device with the long battery life, Motorola's own website shows that the device will remain on Android 4.1.2. The phone launched with Android 4.0.4 Ice Cream Sandwich aboard and was updated to Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean in March.

As far as the Motorola DROID RAZR HD is concerned, there still is hope. The wholly owned Google subsidiary hasn't put its foot down on this model as firmly as it did with the RAZR MAXX HD. That is a little strange considering that both models basically have similar specs. The DROID RAZR MAXX has that fabulous 3300mAh  battery and 32GB of storage compared to the 16GB of storage and a not too shabby 2530mAh cell on the DROID RAZR HD
