Lumia Moments now available in the Windows Phone Store

Lumia Moments is a feature that comes with the Lumia Denim update that takes frames from a video shot on a Windows Phone, and turns them into individual pictures. The Nokia Lumia 830, Nokia Lumia 930, Nokia Lumia Icon and Nokia Lumia 1520 are the four Lumia models that will receive Lumia Moments from the Denim firmware update, although the app's inclusion in the Windows Phone Store means that owners of those models won't have to wait to receive the update in order to use this feature.

A few days ago, we showed you how the feature works on a Nokia Lumia 930. The pictures are divided into two possible categories. Best Frame produces a single photo that you save as a Living Image, and watch it in motion on your camera roll or on Nokia Storytellers. Action Shot lets you add a strobe effect or a blur to turn a picture into a, well, action shot.

By moving the application onto the Windows Phone Store, it makes things easier whenever Microsoft wants to update the feature. Instead of having to send out an OTA update to the affected devices, Microsoft simply updates the app. This is exactly what Motorola and HTC have been doing with their core applications.
