LG Optimus U1 might be the company's first Ice Cream Sandwich phone
Now, here's what looks like possibly the first Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich phone by LG – the LG Optimus U1. The rectangular slab of a phone leaked out in what looks like official press photos, which gives the rumor some more weight.

Sadly, further details are scant. What we do see, though, is the presence of a physical button and two capacitive buttons on the bottom of this device. It's also possible that the Optimus U1 is headed for South Korea only given that Koorean carrier U+ sounds like a perfect match for this phone.

We'd also wish to see a 720p display on the U1, just like the one on the Korea-bound LG Optimus LTE with its 4.5-inch display, but to see if that's reality or only our wishful thinking, we'd have to wait for next year when the device is rumored to launch. Hopefully, though, an official announcement will come sooner rather than later, giving us more clarity.

looks like a generic SGS2.

Sorry, but after LG announced they are dumping support for their current line up, like the capable G2/G2x, im not about to give them a buck. Teach em a lesson the hard way.

AGREED! Not another penny...My G2X, LG Stove and LG Dishwasher are the last LG products I will ever own if they do not crank out support for the G2X. The GB update fiasco on my phone was a fail....and as proud as they were to release the first Dual Core handset.....they should aggressively work to be one of the first to ICS if they want to reverse the trend of losing marketshare.

That's ironic. You said they need to be first with ICS so they don't lose market share just like they were first with a dual core phone. Clearly being first doesn't mean anything with Lg as they're basically forgetting about the G2X and moving onto other things.

Yeah, kinda pain in the ass, I thought Sony Ericsson was worse when it comes to software support due to the x10 debacle last year well what do we know LG replaced them this year. . .
