HTC Droid Incredible finally announced, will cost $199

Now if you aren't really into such style of writing, let us say it in another way: at today's 99% Conference, HTC finally announced the Android 2.1-powered HTC Droid Incredible for Verizon Wireless. All the specs that have leaked at one point or another got confirmed, like the 3.7-inch WVGA AMOLED display, 1GHz Snapdragon (not underclocked), 8MP camera with flash, Wi-Fi, 3.5mm jack and the ubiquitous Sense user interface.
So nothing new under the sun really, except for one quite important thing - the price. "The next chapter in the Droid saga", as Verizon puts it, will continue on April 29 (read: launches on that day) at a price of $199 with a two-year contract and after a $100 mail-in rebate.
Visit this page for pre-ordering details (starts April 19). Cheers!

The problem is, can we see the back? I have yet seen one picture of the back.

the back is black with a little red ring around the camera....when you remove the back cover the entire inside plus the battery is verizon red....kinda weird...

I'm surprised all the sprint fan boys arent in here with their Evo this, and Evo that, Sprints crappy 4g this, and over rated WiMax that....

ya cause they cant use 4g anywhere so they have no idea what its like....

Or either he's upset because The Big Red doesn't have 4G(let alone 4G phone) out yet. As a Sprint fan and Cellular Handset Connoisseur I am happy Verizon got this phone. It will be the best phone on their network. It will do well just as the EVO 4G will do on Sprint. Competition is healthy.......................

Sprint's WiMax is glorified WiFi in it's current state....confrimed by Sprint customer service!

Totally agree. Once the Evo was announced all this stupid talk of Sprint's amazing "4G" network is being talked about, when it's not really anything to write home about. Not to mention, it's virtually nowhere in terms of population it actually reaches. I predict that the Evo will go down like the Palm Pre. All hype, but at the end of the day, fails to deliver!

EVO going down like the "Pre"....Very unlikely. The Pre was a platform built from scratch while Palm was almost bankrupt. HTC on the other hand is doing awesome and Android is exploding right now.

I’m very pleased to see that the processor is NOT under clocked! Thank you Verizon. I love the Droid, but this 1GHz Snappy Snap Snapdragon thing a ma jigger will smoke it!

i hope tht the evo 4g is the same price as the incredible and hd2 i thought about the touch pro 2 from sprint and it has been over $250 for months and probably has no plans on lowering the price to my liking. if the evo 4g is 2 expensive, i'll upgrade to the moment and call it a day lol

Hey Jeradiah3, the phone won't be more than $250. Also, if you give it a few weeks after release then you will probably find it for cheaper(i.e. wirefly, amazon)

Anything priced over $199 nowadays doent sell anyway, and companies I think know this too.

Well, Incredible sells at $299.99 actually but with $100 Mail-in-rebate. I feel that this is a $300 phone despite the Mail-in-rebate. MIR sucks for almost everything to me >
