5.7-inch Samsung Galaxy S7 (Edge Plus?) with 12 MP rear camera allegedly photographed

5.7-inch Samsung Galaxy S7 (Edge Plus?) with 12 MP rear camera allegedly photographed
According to recent rumors, Samsung may be getting ready to release no less than four Galaxy S7 variants - two with regular, flat screens, and two with dual-curve screens (these will, of course, be part of the Edge series).

Yesterday, we showed you what could be the front panel of the regular 5.2-inch Galaxy S7, and today we have a photo that seemingly reveals a 5.7-inch Galaxy S7. Originally posted on Reddit, the photo - seen on the left - appears to be showing a 5.7-inch screen (with 1440 x 2560 pixels) that's curved - so this might be the Galaxy S7 Edge Plus.

The new image also suggests that this 5.7-inch Galaxy S7 is using a Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 chipset (which includes a powerful Adreno 530 GPU), and comes with 4 GB of RAM. Moreover, the handset seems to feature a 5 MP front-facing camera, and a 12 MP rear camera. A couple of months ago, we heard that Samsung was working on a new 12 MP camera (with a sensor larger than the one included in the 16 MP cameras of the Galaxy S6 family), so we won't be surprised if this really ends up being used for the Galaxy S7 series. A larger sensor usually means higher image quality, even if the pixel resolution is a bit lower, so the new 12 MP camera shouldn't be a downgrade from the old 16 MP one.

Naturally, for now, we can't confirm any of the details above. But Samsung is likely going to announce the Galaxy S7 line-up next month, at MWC 2016, so we'll see then if this 5.7-inch S7 Edge Plus is real or not.

S6, edge, edge plus and note 5 are already better than your 6s in the camera department. What are you yapping about?

The 6S camera still struggles on z height for the camera...so I won't be surprised if they added incremental updates on it in the 7

Matching the 6s? Dude don't flatter yourself. The s6, s6 edge, s6 edge plus, and note5 have better camera setup, both in lowlight and well lit areas than the iphone 6s and plus. I have no doubt whatsoever that the s7 and s7 edge will trounce those apple garbage.

Lol I wonder what Apple fan boys will say now that the 6s downgraded low light performance for improved resolution. Apple did the same thing but backwards this year. Samsung sensor BTW is about the same resolution and the 6s but with more low light performance than the 6.

Nobody stopped buying iPhones because they don't have all the megapixels. Other manufacturers' garbage 20+ MP cameras (like the M9) aren't drawing crowds.

He was mimicking Apple haters. Watch how they all sing that MP doesn't matter - something Apple fans been trying to teach for ages. Upgraded MP is all good, but that's not what determines the best camera.

Ugh, MP does matter...some. To say "MP doesn't matter" isn't true. They're just not all that matters. I can guarantee you that no matter how good the image processing or algorithms, a amazing 1.9MP camera won't be better than an above average 8MP one.

I dont understand why they have to drop the MP count to make the sensor larger.

No matter how much we argue that megapixels do matter, you all are the ones that say it dont. They do matter, its just not the only thing that matters.

In the case of Apple, since the 12MP they are using doesn't evene take better pictures than the previous 8MP one, then in this case, MP didnt matter.

LMAO. +1. 2016 will be good year for smartphone in general except for Samsung. Too bad it will be worse year for Samsung mobile.

They taught their customers that,
More spec in phone ( bigger number) = Better Phone.

Their idiotic customer will see this as a downgrade. 2016 will be tough year for Samsung.

You expect me to answer for Apple? But yes my camera shoots great photos more consistent than others. The video capabilities of iPhones are best and I'm not even talking about 4k continuous, 120/240fps slow-mo, and intuitive controls. Yes I'm happy, thank you for asking!!!

Megapixels do matter. Just because Samsung is lowering them to make room to make them bigger, doesnt change how we feel. We cant control what an OEM does with their device.

Just like you guys try to say, cramming more pixels into a square inch on a display doesn't matter or has no benefit. Yet it does with sharper text and punchier colors.

I'm no going to eat my words no matter what Samsung does. I'm not the one who is changing the phone, so how exactly is it eating my words.

How many times have we watched Apple eat it words? There whole existence. But do you hypocrites call them out on it? Nope. So why are you being a hypocrite right now?

No one here who likes Samsung devices is saying all of a sudden MP don't matter.

Once we see camera tests and Samsung camera again takes better pictures, we will just see it as business as usual.

The only ones who will be bring up the pixel count is you, just like you're doing now.

So when Apple stuck to lower MP but worked on final image output - Apple bad, but when Samsung backtracks to where Apple is at - Samsung good... Got ya...

increase MP with same sensor size = bad
decrease MP with bigger sensor size = good
even with only 12MP, I believe it can surpass the sharpness of any 16MP available right now, lets see..
