A Great Phone at a very reasonable Price!

Phone owned for

I bought this phone today after doing ectensive research on other phones on the market. I had the option of purchasing the motorola c650, nokia 2650 and the Samsung D500. After asking people about these phones and how they worked I decided on taking a chance. I bought this phone and I am very impressed the screen is of better quality than my nokia 3660 and the speaker quality is better too. Wap seems to work faster as well. The call reception is also impressive as well. I am a teacher by trade so I use my phone alot so I will be interested in seeing how long the battery lasts. All and all I am impressed with the phone as a whole. It is easy to use (I have not opened the manual as of yet)looks very stylish and also is very small and jam packed with features. Now in South Africa getting mugged is something that we read about aften in the papers so I wanted a phone that could disappear in my trouser pants pocket this at least does. My nokia 3660 shows no matter what ya wearing and how baggy it is. All and all I am most impressed buy one today its worth every cent!!!

Worst phone I've owned!

Phone owned for

I purchased this phone last September, and have had to replace it twice already. The phone isn't a bad design, and I really do like the display. My problem has been the quality of the phone itself. The faceplate came off the forst one I owned, as well as the current "replacement" (remanufactured) phone I have now. I have had the same issue as Tom (below) with all three L1150's I've had in my possession in that I get a voicemail notification, but the original call never rings through to the phone. I miss approx. 20% of my calls!!!! Sadly, AT&T/Cingular isn't any help with these issues. Their customer service gets a score of 1 as well. I will be switching at my earliest convenience! Looking for a nice phone! Look elsewhere! It's pretty with some great features, but it doesn't do any good if they don't work when you need them to....

Tons of bugs

Phone owned for

This is an expensive phone if you bought it from AT&T Wirless, and AT&T Wireless has done crap to support it. Since the Cingular takeover many AT&T Wireless users have been getting "SOS Only" messages when the signal is still strong and AT&T is doing NOTHING to fix it except for forcing people to Cingular contracts. The OS is buggy and slow, and the built in memory fills up quickly if you use the voice recording or camera features. I have also had many problems with voice mail suddenly appearing when the phone never rang at all. The design is sleek and cool and the menus and camera are good quality, but it's all just pretty packaging.

Nice phone!

Phone owned for

I picked up my L1150 at the AT&T wireless store yesterday. First, a word about their in-store customer service....excellent! They really knew their stuff and were happy to assist me with my silly questions and all that.
Now, on to the phone....I have never had a phone for any reason but to make and receive a call. When I finally upgraded to the GSM network, it made me look at the available offerings; including the camera phones.

My first choice was a 'regular' phone, I chose the Samsung x427. It was not acceptable as it did not have a good signal inside my home and it did not have decent sound cancellation or allow voice dialing.

So I traded up to the L1150 and I can report it does all the above, and allows decent reception inside my home to boot! This is big news to me. I have always had reception trouble at home. Apparently, I am located in an area just far apart from the cell towers to allow trees to interfere (ATT wireless told me so) with my reception. So, to have a little flip phone that allows a signal, this is excellent news.

But about that camera....who knew what fun that could be?! I have a picture of my cat as the wallpaper...pretty cool little toy. It also has room for a calendar, to do list, and all sorts of other data needs along with the ever popular mMode to stay in touch with news and sports stuff. It is also very light in weight, and compact in size.

I am told, as a downer for this phone, it has limited memory space. So there is undoubtedly a maximum amount of data over and above the phone numbers and background pictures you take that will have to be reckoned with. I have yet to bump into that wall but over time I am certain I will.

All in all, this is a very nice phone, I'll give it a 5. If you want a phone to speak into and handle your phone numbers, this is it. If you want a phone that takes a surprisingly clear and detailed photos, this is it too.

But if you want a phone to run your life and store all sorts of 'stuff', like detailed memos, voice memors, and lots of pictures, keep looking. Until the folks at LG decide to upgrade the available memory, this phone will probably suffer because of it.

Don't take my word for it though, go check it out!

David
