Description

The Huawei Mate 10 Porsche Edition is in reality the same device as the Mate 10 Pro, but with a slightly different rear panel design, 256 GB internal storage and some minor software tweaks. As such it also features a 6-inch, 18:9 display with a resolution of 1080x2160 pixels. Its rear camera module consists of two sensors: a 12-megapixel color one, and a 20-megapixel monochrome one, with both of them having a f1.6 lens. Notable omissions are the headphone jack and the microSD card slot found in the regular Mate 10 model. Present inside is the brand-new Kirin 970 SoC, which features a dedicated neural processing unit designed for use in various AI tasks.

IP certified - The IP code indicates the degree of protection against dust and water. The first number represents dust protection, while the second represents water protection. In IP67, for example, 6 means a completely dust-tight device, while 7 means the device can stay immersed in up to 1 meter of water for up to 30 minutes. In IP68, a higher level of water protection is expected, but exact numbers aren't specified: both depth and continuance are specified by the manufacturer on per device basis.

Display

  • Physical size:
    • 6.0 inches
  • Resolution:
    • 1080 x 2160 pixels
  • Pixel density:

Pixel density - The pixel density of a display represents the number of pixels over an area of one inch. It’s measured in “pixels per inch”, or ppi. The higher the number, the more detailed and good-looking the display is.

    • 402 ppi
  • Technology:

Technology - There are two main screen technologies currently used in phones and tablets: LCD and AMOLED. The former usually features a light source and liquid crystals, while the latter is based on organic light-emitting diodes. Newer LCD variations like IPS-LCD and Super-LCD allow for very accurate color reproduction and very wide viewing angles, where no significant image quality loss is observed. Current AMOLED screens differ in such a way that they can exhibit much more saturated colors (sometimes too much) and incredibly high contrast levels, which is due to black color being completely black in AMOLED displays.
