You’ll love the Galaxy A27 design changes that just leaked in official renders
An even more detailed look at the Galaxy A27 reveals some nice visual upgrades.

It won’t be an exaggeration to say that the Galaxy A27 is one of the worst-kept secrets in the smartphone world right now, even compared to the likes of the Galaxy Z Fold 8 and the iPhone 18 Pro Max. After Samsung itself leaked its upcoming budget phone, we’re now getting what looks like its official renders.
Just like earlier rumors claimed, the Galaxy A27 may launch in three colors and introduce several design changes compared to the Galaxy A26. The new device may have versions in pink, blue, and black, which leaked in what look like official press images shared by DigitalCitizen.
Probably the most notable changes are to the display. Instead of a teardrop notch, the Galaxy A27 will have a punch hole front camera. The bezels still don’t look completely symmetrical, but the chin appears much less pronounced than on last year’s phone.
The camera bump on the back is still pill-shaped, but now it has an accent that matches the color of the phone. The rest of the design appears practically identical to the A26.
Alongside the renders, the leak also includes promotional images, which confirm several details. Probably the most important is that the phone may get a 5,000 mAh battery.
Another image shows Circle to Search being used, and a render of the chipset names a CPU, GPU, and NPU. The latter stands for neural processing unit, which handles AI tasks. It is still unclear what part of the Galaxy AI features in One UI 8.5 will trickle down to the budget phone.
Last year, Samsung launched the so-called Awesome Intelligence for the Galaxy A series, trimming down the Galaxy AI suite for the more affordable devices. In his in-depth review of the Galaxy A26, my colleague Mariyan appeared impressed by the goodies he found next to the AI features. He was pleased with the design and impressed by the six-year software support, which is a rare thing in the sub-$300 range.
Some of the Galaxy A27 specs we’ve already seen include its 6.7-inch display with a 120Hz refresh rate and the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset. The device is expected to come with 6GB of RAM and versions with 128GB and 256GB of storage, which may be expandable with a microSD card.
One of the less promising leaks claimed the A27 may see a rather significant price bump, at least in the European Union. The rumored starting price there is €349, which is a hefty bump compared to the €299 Samsung asked for its predecessor.
If it wasn’t for the hefty price bump, I would’ve been very pleased with the changes to the Galaxy A27. I know we’re in the middle of a component crisis that’s affecting prices of every device on the market, but I still feel budget phones are turning into much worse deals than before. Let’s hope that’s temporary, but while it lasts, it’ll be difficult to enjoy new devices.
