From replacing a lifetime price lock with a five-year guarantee to bringing back obscure pricing structures, T-Mobile has been steadily stripping back value. The carrier is now scaling back another fan favorite: the legendary insider discount.
10% off for life

T-Mobile has long relied on its 20% insider code to lure customers away from rival carriers or sometimes to pacify subscribers thinking of leaving. Up until now, these coveted codes were hard to come by.
Once applied, the discount remains valid for the life of the account and applies to every line added down the road.
While employees traditionally received a limited stash of codes, T-Mobile is currently making them much easier to find. Select users should have codes waiting in the 'Benefits' tab of the T-Life app. The code can be shared with friends and family on a different carrier to encourage them to switch.
T-Mobile is probably being more generous with the codes because the discount has been slashed to 10%.

Still a solid offer
Even slashed in half, it's a compelling discount. It applies to both existing and future lines, and it stacks with all promotions. To claim it, the recipient needs to click on the referral link, select "Yes" for "Transfer my number" for at least one line, and enter the number being ported over.
The discount should apply automatically. If it doesn't happen, try entering the code sent by your friend in the promo code field during checkout. Make sure to complete the port-in process within 14 days of signing up.

Accounts receive a single-use referral code per eligible line.
It's not clear if the insider referral code stacks with the standard T-Mobile referral system that earns T-Mobile customers a $100 prepaid card when a friend signs up.
However, the insider code still remains sacred inside T-Mobile, with many customers with accounts over a decade old still enjoying it.
The Mobile Reportnotes that the promo URL labels this as the "2026 Q3 and Q4 Postpaid Refer-a-Friend Program," hinting it might return next year.
The current offer expires on November 17.
Worth grabbing
Even in its diluted state, this isn't just the best discount T-Mobile is handing out; it's still one of the most generous recurring deals in wireless. It's permanent, stacks easily, and scales as you add lines. What more could you ask for?
