Budget Galaxy J4 (2018) appears online in new set of press renders
New renders of Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy J4 (2018) have appeared, revealing two color variants. Samsung has already confirmed that the new Galaxy J6 (2018) will be making its first official appearance next Monday, May 21. Nevertheless, the company reportedly has plans for more Galaxy J-branded devices such as the new Galaxy J4, which has just leaked out thanks to various press images.
Checking out the photos, Samsung’s upcoming budget offering will stick to a more traditional 5.5-inch, 16:9 AMOLED display panel. This means thicker bezels will be featured around the display, although this allows the South Korean manufacturer to place a front-facing fingerprint scanner below the display. Additionally, capacitive buttons are present instead of the on-screen alternatives. Also, the top display bezel is home to a front-facing 5-megapixel camera and an accompanying LED flash.
Taking a quick peek at the rear shell, a very simplistic plastic build is present. This is adorned by a vertical camera module that is believed to be home to a 13-megapixel rear sensor and an LED flash. Also, towards the right of the camera setup is a small rear-facing speaker. Upon further inspection of the design, a small slit can be seen on the left side of the panel, suggesting the rear of the device will be removable in order to give user’s access to the battery. Speaking of which, this is rumored to sport a capacity of 3,000mAh.
It’s currently unclear when the new Galaxy J4 will go on sale, but considering Samsung is holding a launch event next week for the more expensive Galaxy J6 (2018), the smartphone may also make an official at the appearance, suggesting a release could happen towards the beginning of June.

Continuing with the internal details, the Galaxy J4 (2018) is also expected to include Samsung’s quad-core Exynos 7570 processor clocked at a speed of 1.4GHz. This will be coupled with either 2GB or 3GB of RAM depending on user preferences, with the former model being equipped with 16GB of storage and the latter model with 32GB. In any case, though, this will be expandable via microSD.
