We got a surprising confirmation of Samsung’s upcoming glasses. | Image by Android Headlines
We have known that Samsung’s been working on AI-powered smart glasses for some time now, but the company hasn’t revealed too much official information about its plans. Now, an accidental leak may have revealed some key details about the upcoming accessory.
Samsung leaks first details about its smart glasses
A recent update to the Nearby Device Scanning app, which is part of One UI on Galaxy phones and tablets, may have listed support for Samsung’s upcoming smart glasses. Spotted by SamMobile, the update mentions support for “Glasses,” which is most likely the official name for the new gadget.
Besides the name, the app changelog also reveals that the device may support some key features. One of those is Quick Pair, but also a way to display the device’s battery levels in a way similar to Galaxy Buds and Galaxy Watches.

Surprisingly short
Until now, it was widely expected for Samsung to go with the Galaxy branding for its glasses. Virtually all reports so far have referred to the upcoming device as the Galaxy Glasses.

Instead, the company may just call them Samsung Glasses, which could be a move to attract buyers who aren’t necessarily already Galaxy users. If that’s the case, it would be interesting to see whether Samsung offers the same functionality across operating systems and devices.
Simple ideas
Detailed renders of what are likely the Samsung Glasses leaked yesterday, revealing a clean design that’s not too far off from the Ray-Ban Meta glasses. Those are expected to feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon AR1 processor, a 155mAh battery, and a 12MP camera.
Another pair of glasses, known by its codename “Haean,” is also expected to launch sometime this year or in early 2027. That model may have similar specs and a microLED display built into the display, similar to the Meta Ray-Ban.
A nice change
As much as I like the Galaxy brand, it is becoming too much like a synonym for Samsung. I’d love to see a product that goes in a different direction, especially if that comes with a wider compatibility.
