While it's been just over a month since Google unveiled the Pixel 11 lineup during its Made by Google event, details regarding the Pixel 12 series have already started to surface. Quite recently, we learned about the massive battery upgrade the Big G is planning for the upcoming series. Now, the latest leak reveals the model numbers of all the upcoming Pixel 12 phones, along with their respective screen resolutions and the expected Android version.
Model number of the Pixel 12 family
Similar to this year, the upcoming Pixel 12 lineup will reportedly feature four models. Here are the model numbers of each variant:
Pixel 12 – GC0QU
Pixel 12 Pro – GWU59
Pixel 12 Pro XL – G7U1Y
Pixel 12 Pro Fold – G4D5D
All the devices are reported to come with Android 18 out of the box. There isn't much known about this Android build, so we can't really tell the exact features you could expect in the upcoming Google phones. That said, all the details have reportedly been found in the GSMA IMEI database.
Do you really want Google to produce widescreen foldables?

Screen resolution of the Pixel 12 phones
The GSMA listing usually only mentions the model number of a smartphone, so it's really surprising that the source of the story was able to grab details regarding the resolution of the upcoming Pixel devices. Anyway, the vanilla Pixel 12 will reportedly have a screen resolution of 1080 x 2400, which is a small decrease from the Pixel 11's 1080 x 2424. Both the Pro and Pro XL models are also reported to feature lower pixel counts than their respective predecessors.
The Pixel 12 Pro is mentioned as coming with a resolution of 1280 x 2824, just shy of the Pixel 11 Pro's 1280 x 2856. The Pixel 12 Pro XL could offer 1344 x 2952, which is again slightly less than the Pixel 11 Pro XL's 1344 x 2992.
Google is seemingly not thinking about a wide foldable

Unlike the traditional Pixel 12 phones, Google's upcoming foldable is reported to see a big jump in its screen resolution. Compared to the Pixel 11 Pro Fold's 2027 × 2152 resolution, the Pixel 12 Pro Fold is listed at 2296 × 2404. The number certainly looks like an upgrade, but it also suggests that the upcoming phone will have almost the same aspect ratio as this year's foldable.

If that turns out to be true, it could indicate that Google will continue to use the same near-square design for its foldable instead of switching to the wide form factor used by the iPhone Duo or the Galaxy Z Fold 8. So, if you were hoping that, looking at the extremely high demand for Samsung's and Apple's wide-screen foldables, Google would also come up with a foldable with the same form factor, this could certainly be disappointing news for you. However, there's not all bad news for Google foldable fans, as the Pixel 12 Pro Fold is reported to use a dual-UTG display that will reduce the visibility of the crease.
I would love to see Google coming up with a wide Pixel 12 Pro Fold
As someone who finds the wide-screen form factor of the iPhone Duo and the Galaxy Z Fold 8 really awesome, I would really want the Big G to start producing foldables in the same form factor. Interestingly, the first Pixel Fold released in 2023 actually had a wider display; however, the company shifted to a square design with the Pixel 9 Pro Fold. That suggests that the company knows the technique; it just needs to ditch the square form factor it is using and start producing wider foldables again.
All that said, it is worth pointing out that we are still many, many months away from the release of the Pixel 12 lineup. It'll most likely come out in August next year. So, we would surely hear more about the upcoming phones in the coming months.
