The information comes from the Dutch site NieuweMobiel.NL and points to an imminent upgrade of the current Fairphone flagship, the Fairphone Gen 6.
However, the differences between the current flagship and this Plus version are not that big.

According to NieuweMobiel.NL, the main difference is a slight bump up in RAM. The Fairphone Gen 6 comes equipped with just 8GB of RAM, which is on the lower side in 2026, especially if you want to run on-device AI agents and tasks.
The refreshed Plus version is expected with 12GB RAM onboard, much more adequate to the modern AI-infused smartphone world.
There's one more difference, but it's strictly cosmetical. There's a new color available for the Fairphone Gen 6 Plus, and it's Cobalt. As cool as this might sound, it won't bring any performance to the phone. Which leads us to the next question.

The company received a repair score of 10/10 from iFixit on everything besides the Fairphone True Wireless Earbuds (1st Generation) and Fairphone 1. The model has been dubbed "the most ethical smartphone in the world," scoring 98 out of 100 possible points by the British magazine Ethical Consumer.
You can get a de-googled Fairphone as well, opting out of the Google ecosystem, and there are also privacy features such as disabling the camera and microphone of the phone.
How much will the Fairphone Gen 6 Plus cost?
The price of the upcoming Fairphone Gen 6 Plus remains a mystery. The current flagship, the regular Fairphone Gen 6, launched at €599 and now sells for €549 at the time of this writing.
We can expect a similar price tag for the Plus version, even though there's a severe RAM and memory chip shortage raising the prices of every piece of electronics that uses such silicon.
12GB of RAM and a new color won't cost a fortune probably, and if you're curious about the other specs, the Fairphone 6 Plus is expected to be an upper-midrange device, just like its predecessor.
It will feature the same Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset, 12GB of RAM, a 6.31-inch OLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, 256GB onboard storage (expandable to 2TB thanks to a microSD card slot), and a 4,415 mAh battery with 30W wired charging.
The phone will most likely feature the same dual-camera setup, consisting of a 50 MP camera with optical image stabilization and a 13 MP ultra-wide lens. Last but not least, the latest Fairphone models come with 7 years of major OS updates, 8 years of security updates, and a 5-year warranty. Not bad at all. Would you buy a Fairphone?
