The Nothing Phone (1) announcement is today, watch the live stream here
The company behind the new rising star on the Android market was founded by none other than Carl Pei, one of the names behind OnePlus. And while the Nothing Phone (1) has not been officially unveiled, most of the key details have been revealed.
The smartphone will be powered by the Snapdragon 778G+ SoC and will feature an impressive camera module with a massive 50 MP sensor. We have already been treated with some camera samples and they surely do not disappoint.
Perhaps the most interesting part about the Nothing Phone (1) is its glyph Interface. The latter is the definite aspect of the smartphone’s design and features a system of 5 LED strips that can be used to communicate information to the user. If this sounds a little bit abstract, here is an explanation of the Nothing Phone glyph interface and how it works.
How are the LED strips visible, you might ask? Well, here comes the most head-turning part of the design of the Nothing Phone (1) - it has a (partly) transparent back. This, coupled with the LEDs strips, makes for a visually stunning smartphone that is sure to stand out in the sea of mundane-looking Android handsets.
There is, however, still some room for surprises. We have yet to receive the full spec sheet of the Nothing Phone (1). Most importantly, the price tag is also as of yet unknown. Given the fact that the Nothing Phone (1) is the brainchild of a OnePlus co-founder, it is safe to assume that we are not in iPhone pricing territory. If anything, by this time tomorrow, we will know for certain.
