The LG Stylo 5 can be yours for free or at a cool 20 percent discount from Boost
Commercially released on its first US carrier about a month ago, the mid-range LG Stylo 5 expanded pretty quickly to Boost Mobile, Sprint, and Metro by T-Mobile. Still unavailable in an unlocked variant, the pen-wielding 6.2-incher can be had free of charge from not one but two wireless service providers right now, as Boost is essentially matching Metro's introductory deal on this very interesting smartphone for new subscribers.

Sprint's daughter operator has a fairly straightforward set of requirements for its killer new deal, which was kicked off just yesterday but will apparently run all the way up to September 16. Normally priced at $199.99, the creativity-encouraging Stylo 5 can be yours for $0 if you port in an existing number from a non-Sprint-related carrier (yup, Virgin Mobile included), and activate the handset on an "eligible" plan costing $50 a month or more.

In case you're wondering, Boost Mobile offers "unlimited gigs" (with SD quality streaming) for $50 a month, while a $60 Unlimited Plus plan bumps the video streaming quality up to HD and your monthly hotspot allotment from 12 to 30GB. Those are some incredibly reasonable rates, and along with a gratis phone sporting a built-in stylus, it's definitely enough to make a lot of largely satisfied customers of different carriers strongly consider a switch.

But wait, there's more. More ways to save quite a bit of money on the already affordable LG Stylo 5, that is. Including a nice promo for folks who don't have a number to port in.

With absolutely no strings attached and no special conditions, the Android 9.0 handset is available at a cool 20 percent discount as long as you remember to apply the "SUMMER2019" coupon code before checking out. The online-only offer will expire in less than 24 hours, mind you, and it can actually be claimed on any new Android phone purchased from Boost. As far as the Stylo 5 is concerned, the promo code will reduce its list price to a measly 160 bucks.
