The hype is on, as iQOO just flexed hard. The soon-to-be-released iQOO 15 Ultra allegedly smashed the AnTuTu leaderboard, racking up the highest score ever recorded. For players chasing silky-smooth frame rates, zero lag, and bragging rights, that achievement isn't just a stat – it's a badge of honor. Gamers should start saving right now!

Over 4.5 million points

As prolific tipster Digital Chat Station reports, the iQOO 15 Ultra scores "over 4.51 million" points. That puts it well ahead of the current No. 1 in the AnTuTu rankings, the RedMagic 11 Pro and its score of 4.1 million.

AnTuTu is a popular benchmarking tool for Android phones (especially for gaming handsets), with brands flaunting scores in ads and reviewers using them to see which device packs the most punch. By testing CPU, GPU, memory, and UX in one go, it spits out a single number that sums up a phone's raw power. Of course, it's not perfect. Scores can swing depending on heat, battery level, or software tweaks, and some manufacturers have even been caught giving their phones a little behind-the-scenes boost.

A true champion?

The iQOO 15 Ultra is rumored to arrive with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, Qualcomm's current high-end silicon. This isn't surprising, as most maxed-out Android flagships today pack it as well. By being so powerful, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 naturally heats up, so a state-of-the-art cooling system is a must for any flagship that has it under the hood.

That's why the iQOO 15 Ultra will most likely arrive with an active cooling fan, besides the cool gaming shoulder keys. The main difference between the iQOO 15 Ultra and its non-Ultra sibling, the iQOO 15, is expected to be in the battery department. The Ultra might pack a hefty 7,000 mAh capacity cell (with alleged 200W charging speeds).

Besides that, the display could be a 6.85-inch AMOLED (2K resolution, 144Hz refresh rate) one, with LPDDR5x RAM (in other words: blazing fast) and UFS 4.1 storage. Digital Chat Station says the iQOO 15 Ultra will offer a baseline configuration of 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB storage, but it could go up to 24 gigs of RAM and 1 TB of storage.

Given recent price hike trends due to memory chip shortages, I can't imagine the price of that beast, but I'm sure it'll be an expensive handset.

It's expected to launch in China in February, but so far, there isn't any information about a global release. Should that happen, we'll let you know!
