Tired of charging your iPhone or Galaxy every day? You might want to switch to a different phone, as the latest leak points toward a monster 12,000 mAh smartphone battery already in production.

Honor is reportedly working on a 12,000 mAh phone

Yeah, I know. It's not a Motorola or a OnePlus phone that you can get in the US, but still, it's a 12,000 mAh phone! According to famous Weibo tipster Digital Chat Station, Honor has started a trial production of a new battery with an alleged rated capacity of 11,790 mAh and a typical value of 12,000 mAh!

The phone getting this massive battery is still unknown, but there are hints in the comment section below the original post on Weibo.

Honor Win 2 series to get the monster 12,000 mAh battery?

As correctly pointed out in the comments, beside the upcoming Honor Magic 9 series flagship lineup, the only new model expected from the Chinese manufacturer is the Honor Win 2 series.

We know that Honor is quite conservative when it comes to the Magic series and probably won't stick a 12,000 mAh battery inside, rather opting for style and design over battery life.

So, the only possible answer to the 12,000 mAh battery question has to be a device from the Honor Win 2 family, potentially the Honor Win Turbo 2.

Honor Win and Honor Win Turbo feature 10,000 mAh batteries

The previous two models in the lineup, the Honor Win and Honor Win Turbo, both launched in China with huge 10,000 mAh batteries. Honor reportedly wanted to push for a 14,000 mAh battery in the next models, but details remain scarce at the moment.

The current battery champion, when it comes to capacity, is the Honor X80 Pro Max. This model is rocking an 11,000 mAh battery, and it's a midrange device with modest specs, well… beside the battery.

If Honor indeed sticks this new battery inside the Honor Win 2 series, there's no reason to celebrate. For one, this series will launch in China and probably won't come to other parts of the world anytime soon.

Do we need such massive battery phones?

Absolutely! Don't let anyone tell you otherwise, especially Apple and Samsung. Honor is currently one of the leaders when it comes to silicon-carbon battery tech, and it shows. Samsung and Apple are yet to introduce this new tech in flagship phones and are lagging behind.

A 12,000 mAh battery phone will offer up to three full days of battery on a single charge, even if it's not fully optimized. This could be a game changer; imagine charging your phone twice a week, rather than every day.

Meanwhile, in other news, we're still waiting for Samsung to launch the first devices with solid-state batteries inside. We're looking at the second half of 2027, with wearables such as the Galaxy Ring and Galaxy Watch getting the new tech first.
