Huawei Mate 20 Pro leaks one more time alongside AirPods copycat
Huawei hasn’t exactly gone to great lengths to hide the two (or rather three) smartphones scheduled for official October 16 announcements in London, but the company probably never wanted all the info about the Mate 20, Mate 20 Pro, and Porsche Design Mate 20 to be out in the open so early.

Then again, a lot of stuff isn’t quite etched in stone yet, as even a generally reliable tipster like Roland Quandt can’t say for sure whether the two renders he himself leaked yesterday depict the “regular” Huawei Mate 20 or the Mate 20 Pro variant.

Whatever this thing is, it’s incredibly good-looking, with a freshly revealed press-friendly image truly doing that massive front panel justice. The (AMOLED?) screen is not only big, but smoothly curved as well, with a minimal bottom bezel, and... fairly wide notch.

That’s something you’ll have to learn to live with, which shouldn’t be a problem if the Huawei Mate 20 Pro indeed adopts 3D facial recognition technology. Besides, if you prefer the subtle “waterdrop” approach to screen cutouts, the non-Pro Mate 20 is widely expected to go down that road.

Interestingly, an “ironed out” version of one of the two promo images initially disclosed yesterday makes it clear there’s something on the Mate 20 Pro chin. Oddly enough, it doesn’t seem to be a company logo, so perhaps it’s a tiny speaker. Or a groundbreaking sensor of some sort. Don’t you just love when the plot thickens with every new phone leak?

As for the Huawei FreeBuds 2 Pro seen casually hanging out with the company’s next flagship handset again, they... still look like shameless Apple AirPods clones. Sorry, Huawei, but it is what it is, and we’ll call it as we see it.
