Google is testing Gmail Live, which allows you to speak to the email app and ask it a query.

Google is currently testing a feature for iOS and Android called Gmail Live. When the feature is live, you'll be able to have a conversation with the Gmail app when looking for information from a specific email. If you are like me and have several hundred emails in your Gmail inbox, this is the fastest way to go searching for information.
There is no way you can manually go through your inbox in time.
Ever want to have a conversation with Gmail?
When you open the Gmail app and tap the search bar, you'll see "Ask Gmail," which is the text version of this new feature. You'll be able to type in a natural language query and get back an AI Overview. But if you want to use your voice, keep the following in mind.
Which tech firm does a better job with making AI useful to you?
You'll also see an icon similar to the Gemini Live icon inside the search bar with a soundwave and a sparkle. Tapping the icon will bring up a full page UI (still in beta) similar to Gemini Live with examples of prompts that you can use.
These examples include:
- What are my upcoming travel dates?
- What are updates on my latest orders?
You can ask Gmail to check on orders you've placed with Amazon
Let's say that you want to check on some orders you placed with Amazon. You ask, "What are the updates on my latest orders?" Your question is transcribed on the screen and is answered after Gmail Live processes the question. The answer is simultaneously written on the screen and is read aloud.
Gmail Live is coming later this summer
This feature, currently in testing for both Android and iOS, will be made available this summer to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers. If you do subscribe to one of these two Google AI services, you'll learn that you can talk to Gmail and actually get a response. I'd bet that you have never thought about having a conversation with Gmail before.
