Get free Amazon Prime for up to six months with UK carrier O2

If you live in the UK and have always wanted to give Amazon Prime a try, now is the perfect time to do so. As O2 announced in a recent blog post, new and existing customers of the carrier can now get Amazon Prime for free for up to six months.

To take advantage of the free period, you need to purchase an eligible Pay Monthly device, SIM-only plan, or Volt bundle. Amazon Prime can be activated at the time of purchase or within the first 28 days of the contract. However, you must know that you can't take advantage of O2's new Amazon offers if you are already a Prime subscriber.

If you sign up for a Non-Plus SIM-only (12GB+ tariffs) or Non-Plus device plan (5GB+ tariffs), your Amazon Prime free period will be only three months. However, if you purchase a Plus SIM-only or a Plus device plan, your free Prime period will be six months. When the promotion ends and you choose not to cancel your membership, you'll be automatically enrolled in a paid Prime subscription for £8.99 per month, which is the original price of Amazon Prime in the UK.

Now, if you want to, you can add an Amazon Prime membership to your O2 bill without purchasing anything. Yes, in that case, you won't get the free period we are talking about — meaning you will pay £8.99 per month from the beginning — but you will receive a £2 monthly discount on your airtime bill.
