While that $159 price tag was essentially rendered obsolete following the introduction of the vastly improved AirPods 3 in the fall of 2021, this is an incredible deal that's been years in the making... and could thus go away very quickly due to obscenely high demand.

Sans active noise cancellation, these industry veterans need to largely rely on an iconic design, flawless connectivity, decent battery life, and excellent overall sound (for their price) to try to earn a place on as many Christmas shopping lists as possible before eventually being discontinued.
