Xiaomi releases MIUI 8.0 Global Beta ROM 6.9.9 for Redmi Note 3 Snapdragon Edition

If you happen to own a Redmi Note 3 Snapdragon edition, then you'll be happy to know that Xiaomi has just announced MIUI 8 Global Beta is now rolling out to everyone.

The new beta update version 6.9.9 is based on Android 6.0 Marshmallow, so expect quite a few new features and improvements to be included. However, there are many reports coming from Redmi Note 3 users who complain the update comes with a few issues as well, but that's understandable considering this is a beta build.

According to Xiaomi, MIUI 8.0 Global Beta 6.9.9 brings several new features and improvements, aside from those included in Android 6.0 Marshmallow. For example, the update adds a new swipe to the edge of the screen gesture, which hides Quick ball.

Also, Redmi Note 3 users can now tap the date in the status bar to open the Calendar. There's also a new feature that allows you to hold the empty spot on the Home screen to enter the editing mode.

When it comes to audio, Xiaomi made some under the hood optimization, which now allows users to record music in stereo quality. Aside from these new features, the Chinese company included some fixes as well.

Fix - Issues with volume level notification in Second space when using earphones;
Fix - Device didn't respond after updating and rebooting;
Fix - FC issues when switching between themes
