Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 video teaser goes live before September 11 announcement
Apple and Google will soon hold some of the biggest launch events of the fall, as they prepare to unveil their new flagship smartphones. The runner-up, Xiaomi, has its own event as well, which is set to take place on September 11, just one day ahead of Apple's big reveal.
The Mi MIX 2 is supposed to be announced next week in China. The flagship is unlikely to make it to more than a few countries through official channels, but some Chinese retailers may ship the Mi MIX 2 internationally.
That being said, it looks like Xiaomi has just released the first video teaser of the Mi MIX 2. We don't get to learn anything about the big phablet, so take it as a confirmation that the flagship will indeed be introduced on September 11.
Xiaomi Mi MIX 2 has already been confirmed to pack Qualcomm's new Snapdragon 835 processor, unlike the predecessor that includes a mid-range chipset. Other highlights of the phablet might include a 19-megapixel rear-facing camera, a 13-megapixel selfie snapper and larger than 6-inch display.
Also, the smartphone is rumored to come in two variations based on the amount of memory: 4GB RAM and 128GB ROM, or 6GB RAM and 128GB ROM. Sadly, there's no word on price tag and availability yet.
