New Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 leak offers a closer look at the phone's display

We're just one week away from the official reveal of the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2, another mildly interesting flagship smartphone making its debut in the second half of the year. The device is supposed to be unveiled on September 11, one day ahead of Apple's big launch event.

However, the Mi Mix 2 is more important to the Asian market, as Xiaomi is unlikely to launch the phablet outside China and, maybe, India. Nevertheless, since it's one of those devices that benefits from the “wow” factor, the Mi Mix 2 will probably sell very well even outside China through unofficial channels.

Earlier today, Qualcomm confirmed the Mi Mix 2 will be powered by a Snapdragon 835 processor, even though previous rumors suggested the phone will be equipped with a Snapdragon 836 SoC.

We now have a few more pictures showing the phone's display 2.0. Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 is expected to have a very high screen-to-body ratio, just like the predecessor. However, it remains to be seen whether or not Xiaomi will opt for a full HD or Quad HD display.

The bezel-less phablet will boast a huge display (possibly 6.4-inch), but a dual-camera setup might be included as well. Other highlights of the Mi Mix 2 include either 4GB or 6GB RAM, 13-megapixel selfie camera and 128GB internal memory.

Wow ! Can this possibly ruin the iPhone launch from the next day ? At least in China, I think it's possible :)

It wont ruin iPhone launch. These both phones target different category of people.

Please define the "category" of those who use iPhone. Is sheeple a category?

Nah I highly doubt it will have any affect in China. Chinese buy Apple for the brand. They've been starving for a real update since the Iphone 6 and have been holding out for the all-screen Iphone. This year Apple will score the biggest success in China along with the rest of the world.

If those photos are of the real product, then it definitely has the thinnest smartphone bezels. But if Xiaomi is still sticking with 1080p instead of 1440p, then it is a waste of what could have been one of the most beautiful phones in the world.

They should remove the front facing camera and make a trully bezel-less phone! I would love that!

all other devices that claim to have " bezel less " screen i consider false marketing because you can still clearly see the bezel and nowhere near what they claim but this is phenomenal and completely different

Well, there is still bezel at the bottom of this phone so......also, this is probably a render still.

Do any of them actually call their devices 'bezel-less' though? And even if they did, they aren't really false marketing. Their devices do have less bezel than before. Now, if they used the term 'bezel-free', than yes, that would definitely be false marketing.

Looking good! Glad the curves are subtle and not overly reflective like Sammys. If they can improve that camera and keep that fat battery, I don't see how you can go wrong with this phone!
