BlackBerry is almost ready to launch a new smartphone that’s made to attract fans of the company’s older handsets - you know, the QWERTY-equipped Bold and Curve models. Called
BlackBerry Classic, the new device has been
available to pre-order in the US and Canada since last month, and is expected to start shipping next week, on December 17.
Right now, BlackBerry is listing only a black version of the smartphone on its official website. However, N4BB revealed a render (embedded on the left) that's showing a white variant of it - though we don’t know if this will be released at the same time with the black model. In any case, the white BlackBerry Classic should have the same price: $449, unlocked.
Besides a full QWERTY keyboard, the BlackBerry Classic features a square 3.5-inch screen with 720 x 720 pixels, LTE connectivity, 8 MP rear camera, 2 MP front-facing camera, 2 GB of RAM, a dual-core Snapdragon processor clocked at 1.5 GHz, and 16 GB of expandable internal memory. The handset also includes a 2515 mAh battery, and runs the latest BlackBery 10 OS. We’ll let you know more about the new ‘Berry once it’s officially released.
