Watch this video of the Xiaomi Mi 4 allegedly running Windows 10 for Phones
About two weeks ago, we showed you some still images of the Xiaomi Mi 4 running Windows 10 for Phones. These photos were leaked right after a report was published indicating that Microsoft was planning on offering Windows 10 for Phones ROMs for selected Android handsets. Microsoft is hoping that after getting a taste of Windows on their phone, Android users will become Windows-lifers.

The first phone being tested for the program is the Xiaomi Mi 4. Microsoft chose the phone because its users have a history of responding quickly to software updates sent out by the manufacturer. Xiaomi has made it clear that it is still committed to Google's open source OS and is essentially just a bystander when it comes to Microsoft's test.

During the recently held WinHEC hardware conference in China, a video was made that allegedly shows the Mi 4 running Windows 10 for Phones. You can check it out by clicking on the video below. Will Microsoft's program help it pick up some converts to Windows 10?

I dont get why people find black blocky UI appealing, 90s much?.. 8bit hipster mode.

Because once you customize it, it is yours. Most of the ones they show in ads are very boring compared to what the users make.

Man , come on , i mean im fan of windows, i just installed windows 10 preview few hours ago to try it out, but UI on Windows Phone is sh*t, no doubt. Now i personaly prefer usability , so if they do some great(and i mean great massive)Windows PC Windows Phone integration/sync ill buy it whatever ui it uses. Im hoping for these -Super easy file sharing PhonePC -Good notification sync -Good aplication sync -Browser as good as Samsung stock or Chrome. -Performance more or less.

It's personal preference. After using windows phone for as long as I have, I can says the exact opposite of what you said about the UI. And guess what? We would both be right, because it is an opinion.

You're right. These demos and previews don't give Windows phones any justice. Once you customize it it will look really nice. I use a scenic picture for the background and use transparency for all the tiles so it looks really cool. I have been using Android phones all my life but after trying out the Lumia 635 and customizing it I'm hooked. I haven't touched my Android phone for awhile. The reason is not that it's only different and gives some fresh air to smartphones, but the emails are faster, notifications come faster, browsing is faster, almost everything is faster. I don't have time to wait so even though the Lumia 635 is a smaller phone than my LG 5.5" display, I prefer quickness over lagginess. I am just waiting for the Microsoft Lumia 640XL to come out then bye bye to Android. I don't mind less apps for Windows phones. Apps are just a subset of what the browser can do so I just go to their website.

I basically do the same for all my tiles. I have a Miku picture as my back (the girl on my avatar), and the entire thing is transparent. Then I have the nontransparent ones at the bottom.

I agree with you, it seems easy to use, but it's like it has no life in the phone.

I like Windows Mobile better. Miss using it on my HTC HD2(even though it was a pain in the ass).

I would love a wp as a second phone to go with my note 4. I liked the 830 but thought it was priced too high for what you get. Maybe the replacement for the 1020 or 1520

I think Microsoft will stop selling the lumia phone, and only report DOWNLOAD for WP 10.

Interesting would be if that "launcher" could download/use apps for Android. Something like BB10 have. Even better would be if it could open both Windows and Android apps, that would be amazing
