True octa-core powered mid-range Samsung model found on GFXBench

A mid-range Samsung Galaxy smartphone with the model number SM-G615F has appeared on GFXBench. The model number doesn't show up anywhere, although it could be a 2017 version of the Samsung Galaxy On7 Pro. The model number for the Galaxy On7 Pro, which dropped last July, is SM-G600F. That is close enough to believe that the benchmarked phone is related to that handset.

Let's go to the specs. According to GFXBench, the SM-G615F features a 5.7-inch display with a resolution of 1080 x 1920. The MediaTek 6757 (Helio P20) chipset is under the hood carrying a true octa-core CPU (Cortex-A53) clocked at 2.3 GHz. The chipset also features the Mali-T880MP2 MP2 GPU. 3GB of RAM is inside along with 32GB of native storage. Both back and front-facing cameras weigh in at 12MP. Battery specs were not included, but we do have to consider that a 5.7-inch screen needs a certain amount of power to keep running.

Hopefully we will soon learn exactly which model is represented by the GFXBench listing. Right now, the big money is on the Galaxy On7 Pro (2017).
