The most popular Windows Phone handset, with over 12 million active units, is the Nokia Lumia 520. The entry-level model is now available on sale, as part of Amazon's "Lightning Deals." These are special offers with deep-discounts, for a limited period of time. For $99.99, you can purchase an unlocked Nokia Lumia 520 in Yellow. That is a $20 savings (or 17%) from Amazon's regular price for the phone.
The Nokia Lumia 520 comes sporting Windows Phone 8, but is being updated to Windows Phone 8.1. That means the phone will support Cortana whenever the personal assistant rolls out from region to region. The handset offers a 4 inch IPS LCD screen with resolution of 480 x 800, for a pixel density of 233ppi. Under the hood is a dual-core 1GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 Plus CPU with the Adreno 305 GPU crunching the graphics. 512MB of RAM is inside, along with 8GB of native storage. Those needing additional memory can use the 64GB capacity microSD slot on board the device. On the back of the phone is a 5MP snapper sans flash. The Lumia 520 also does not offer a front-facing camera. A 1430mAh battery keeps the lights on.
