The Apple iPad hits the 2 million mark just a week away from WWDC 2010
The Apple iPad has taken the world by storm as it reached the 2 million mark in just under 60 days since it was first unveiled to the world back on April 3. The tablet device from Apple just recently embarked on its international release which aided in boosting sales for it, but we may soon see additional sales in the coming months as it'll go live in nine more countries this July. Steve Jobs said, “ Customers around the world are experiencing the magic of iPad, and seem to be loving it as much as we do. We appreciate their patience, and are working hard to build enough iPads for everyone.” Apple surely ushered in the era of tablet computing, but there is still yet no visible competitor to test their might in this segment. Naturally we may begin to see a similar competition playing out in the tablet arena as Google will undoubtedly prepare to make its assault – similar to what we've been witnessing of late as Android continues to gain share in the smartphone market. However, there is no telling what other cards Apple has up their sleeves to combat the growing competition.
